The MINI John Cooper Works, a triumph in sports car engineering and one of the most powerful vehicles in the MINI model range was recently launched in Kuwait by Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive, the exclusive importer for MINI in Kuwait. The model was unveiled by Khalid Al-Marzouq, Chairman of the recently launched MINI Club Kuwait, in the presence of dignitaries, members of the club and media at the Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive MINI showroom.
“In addition to hosting and participating in fun activities with fellow members, we placed great importance on hearing the Club members’ feedback, and receiving their suggestions and input on how to further extend the special relationship MINI has with Kuwait. Today, we see the fruits of our efforts as we welcome the MINI John Cooper Works to Kuwait for the first time ever, after a series of requests from members of the MINI Club Kuwait,” Al-Marzouq said.
The MINI, a small car with a big attitude and substance to back it, incorporated in the MINI John Cooper Works some its most advanced automotive technologies. Promising a new dimension of driver focused performance with components derived from its CHALLENGE race car heritage, the MINI John Cooper Works adds unique driving dynamics bound to be appreciated by driving enthusiasts around the country. The MINI John Cooper Works accelerates to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds and enjoys a top speed of 238 km/h. Maximum output from the newly developed four-cylinder power unit with twin-scroll turbocharger has been raised to an astonishing 211hp, with maximum torque of 260 Nm. In line with its racing heritage, the MINI John Cooper Works makes use of exclusive extra-light alloy wheels, extremely powerful brakes, a new exhaust system and a modified six-speed manual gearbox that comes straight from the MINI John Cooper Works CHALLENGE race car. With segment first stability features and a sports button that allows drivers to experience dynamic direct response, the MINI John Cooper Works promises to deliver the enjoyable go-kart feeling that the MINI is renowned for.
With its sports car-inspired exterior and interior, the MINI John Cooper Works range offers enhanced comfort features and a variety of special equipment options that include among others a sports suspension as well as full leather interior and Comfort Access keyless entry/ignition for added dynamism.#In-car entertainment on the MINI John Cooper Works includes a 6.5-inch TFT colour display with optional navigation system and an AUX port featured as standard to play music recorded on an MP3 player through the audio system. A special interface for complete integration of an Apple iPod is also available as an accessory, in addition to a Bluetooth interface and USB port.
